Safe Work Place

Safe employment and prevention of injuries is a core value of our company. The safety and well being of every associate in this organization is of primary importance and must take precedence over all other considerations. F&M Mafco is committed to enhancing our ongoing efforts in accident prevention and implementation of safe work practices, while addressing environmental issues. Work related accidents and injuries must be prevented, therefore in order to ensure a safe work environment the following policy has been adopted.

  • A Safety committee has been formed and is chaired by a company Shareholder. Assigned members include departmental managers and an outside safety consultant. The committee’s key responsibilities entail overseeing and or coordinating all safety activities, while providing the support and resources to accomplish these efforts.
  • F&M Mafco will work to comply with State and Federal safety codes and regulations.
  • Regularly scheduled safety inspections will be made in order to discover and correct unsafe conditions and practices.
  • Every accident will be reported and investigated promptly and thoroughly with the aim of preventing the same or similar incident/accident.
  • In the event that an employee is injured, F&M Mafco will make every effort to provide immediate response/appropriate medical treatment and upon recovery, return the able employee back to work at the earliest opportunity.
  • Accident prevention and safe work practices will be developed and all associates, management and contracted labor, will be required to comply with these practices as a condition of employment.
  • When workplace hazards cannot be eliminated, suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) shall be made available to employees. Associates are required to properly wear this equipment in accordance with published PPE procedures.
  • Each supervisor will be responsible for safety in their respective areas of responsibility and will be given the training, assistance, authority and support needed to fulfill this responsibility.
  • Employees are encouraged to maintain open communications with regards to safety concerns or issues, while also providing ongoing suggestions to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Overall accident prevention and safety is an obligation and responsibility shared by shareholders, management and all F&M Mafco associates.
