F&M MAFCO, Inc. supplied (2) S-30 American Derricks with 210 American Hoists that are being used on a sled to set edge girders, beams and concrete segments of the Port Mann Bridge in Vancouver, British Columbia. Material is lifted from ground level with a crane to a truck on the bridge deck, truck positions load at the edge of the bridge deck, S-30 unloads and places the components of the bridge. Stay cables are connected to the edge girders. Once the segment is complete, the derrick sled is jacked up and moved to sit on the newly finished segment and the process repeats. The estimated completion of the bridge is December of 2012.
